Time of Year

As the holidays surround us, students have complete A Christmas Carol and discussed in depth the changes that occured within Scrooge.  To go along with Marley's 'chains of greed', the ICONS have assembled their own chains... of kindness!

First Nine Weeks Incentive Trip

Today was The ICONS first incentive trip of the year.  Students who received three or less marks on their behavior/homework logs had the opportunity to go bowling at Franklin Hi-Way Lanes.  The trip was a success and students enjoyed themselves; having pizza for lunch and perfecting their score during cosmic bowling.

Congratulations to all students who were able to go!!!

Break

ICONS, have a safe and fun-filled Fall Break!  You have all been working very hard and we are proud of you.  See you on Monday!

Vocabulary

ICON students are being introduced to a plethora of new words!  Vocabulary is a key component in all academic classes.  Ask your ICON student what innovative terms they learned today!

Book Fair

Tomorrow, Friday (10-05), is the last day for the Book Fair!  Students, if you bring money tomorrow you may visit the Book Fair during recess.  See Mrs. Inabnit for a pass.

A Christmas Carol

If you have not done so, please send in the signed permission slip and money for A Christmas Carol.

A Christmas Carol permission slips with money are due by October 2, 2012, but we would like them as soon as possible!  A copy of the permission slip can be found on the schools website, CBIS.

Congratulations!

On Friday, seven ICONS stepped up to the challenge of running for CBIS Student Council.  All speeches were wonderful and the voters had a tough decision to make.  We would like to congratulate The ICONS Student Council representatives...  Maddie A. and Caleb C.!  We are proud of you!

Deadlines...

Hello ICONS!

As a school, there are a few deadlines that are approaching. 

If you turned in a Student Council application, you will be required to give a brief speech to the team on Friday (9-08-12) morning.  After all speeches have been given, the team will vote for their Student Council rep.

A Christmas Carol permission slips with money are due by October 2, 2012, but we would like them as soon as possible!  A copy of the permission slip can be found on the schools website, CBIS.

Thank you to all the parents who came for Meet the Teacher Night!  It was wonderful getting to meet you all.

Please make sure that your student is eating a healthy breakfast and getting plenty of sleep!

A Great Start!

The ICONS are off to a wonderful start!  After two days under our belt's, we feel that all the students are starting to adjust to the life of a sixth grader.

We are looking forward to meeting all the ICON parents tonight at Meet the Teacher Night... remember, it starts at 6:00.
